Billing

Billing for Lapdev Cloud is monthly per organisation. All resources are separated between organisations, including billing.

Billing is calculated by the monthly usage for each organisation. Refer to our pricing page for more details.

Plans

Lapdev Cloud currently have two plans:

  • Free Plan: Every organisation has 30 hours free usage every month. No credit card needed.

  • Pay As You Go Plan: If you need more than 30 hours every month, you can upgrade to pay as you go plan. The 30 hours free usage is included for Pay As You Go plan too.

Pay As You Go Plan

You can upgrade your plan from Free to Pay As You Go, or downgrade your plan from Pay As You Go to Free, at any time of the month.

On upgrading your plan to Pay As You Go, you'll be redirected to Stripe billing page to put your card details in. There's no minimum usage and we won't charge your card on upgrade.

At the beginning of next month, we'll calculate the total usage based on the seconds of workspace usage of the last month. If your usage wasn't over the free 30 hours, we won't charge you. And we'll only calculate the usage that's over the 30 hours. For example, if you've used 32 hours 20 minutes for a month, we'll charge you for the usage of 2 hours 20 minutes, and the invoice for that month will be (2 X 3600 + 20 X 60) X 0.00005 = $0.42.

Spending Limit

You can set a spending limit on your organisation so that you don't have an unexpected invoice at the end of the month. The spending limit is $0 by default when you upgrade your plan, and that means you can't have any usage outside of the 30 hours free usage. So the first thing you might want to do is to increase the spending limit to something you think is reasonable.

If you got an error "you've reached your usage limit" when you try to create or start a workspace, that means you've reached your spending limit. We don't stop any running workspaces though when the spending limit is reached.

Invoice

You can view and download your invoices after you upgrade to the paid plans, and you can find it in the billing section in your dashboard.

Click "View past invoices", and you'll be redirected to Stripe billing portal, where you can mange your payment card, and mange all you past invoices.
